Account Manager Academics & Startups
As Account Manager for Academics & Startups at Infinite Simulation Systems, you pioneer innovation by linking academic institutions (universities, universities of applied sciences, student teams) and startups to Ansys simulation solutions, while deepening your knowledge across the full spectrum of engineering simulation applications. You build and nurture a dedicated portfolio of academic and startup partners, proactively engaging with them to understand their challenges and providing the right software and service. You build relationships, spark ideas and supply the tools that turn bold concepts into real-world impact, fueling the next generation of engineers and entrepreneurs.
Your mission
- You are responsible for identifying and developing business opportunities with academic institutions and startups for a tailored set of Ansys simulation solutions.
- You approach existing and potential partners in many interesting sectors such as automotive, aerospace, marine, semiconductor, energy, high‑tech, medical industry, and build & construction. Startups require active, targeted research and outreach.
- You manage the entire sales process, from the first lead and needs mapping to solution design and agreement signing, ensuring seamless onboarding and effective follow-up.
- You are the main point of contact regarding academics & startups, inside our organization and toward Ansys.
- Through regular, structured contact, you deepen your understanding of each partner’s challenges and communicate the clear value of Ansys solutions. Your largest accounts receive your dedicated attention through regular meetings and live visits.
- In addition, you actively participate in internships-, career-, networking- and other events to connect with prospects and showcase Ansys solutions.
Your superpowers
- You have at least a bachelor's degree, preferably in a technical direction (mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, civil engineering, construction..) or another bachelor's or master's degree combined with strong technical knowledge and affinity.
- You combine smooth communication and presentation, both in Dutch and English, with keen technical-commercial interest, high willingness to service our customers and a structured work method; whether you’re discussing complex simulation topics with engineers or strategic goals with non‑technical stakeholders, you can connect and resonate at every level.
- You are familiair with (software) engineering.
- Experience selling software solutions, or other proven success in a technical sales environment, gives you a great advantage.
- Experience in the academic or startup world is not a must, but it comes in handy for understanding their dynamics, decision-making processes, and financial frameworks.
- You like to achieve successes in a team and also achieve your results independently.
- Finally, you have a strong sense of responsibility, you maintain an overview and you proactively contribute to the expansion of our growing organization.
